Grab your wetsuits, because we’re taking a deep dive into one of our favorite drinks here at Pearl Coffee Co: the classic Cappuccino.

What is This Classic Beverage?

Great question, friend! Essentially, the traditional Cappuccino is an Italian coffee beverage, typically no larger than six ounces, crafted with espresso and an even blend of milk and foam. However, over time, this beloved drink has truly evolved. Originally, it featured fairly airy, stiff foam, but now, we see a preference for creamier microfoam. Specifically, microfoam boasts smaller, tighter air bubbles that feel silkier on the palate, and consequently, they integrate seamlessly into the espresso crema.

Therefore, if you enjoy a stronger coffee, a Cappuccino is absolutely perfect for you! Indeed, due to its larger espresso ratio, this beverage delivers a more intense coffee flavor, while also providing a wonderfully creamy mouthfeel thanks to the milk foam.

Fun Fact: Interestingly, this drink was named after the Capuchin Friars because its light brown color resembled their robes.

The Pearl Difference

Here at Pearl, we are serious about our classics, and consequently, the iconic Cappuccino is no different. To begin with, to make a satisfying and rich Cappuccino, we start with fresh coffee beans. Furthermore, these beans are sourced locally from our trusted pals at S&W Craft Roasting Ltd. For example, their Guatemala Buena Esperanza Medium Roast, meticulously sourced from second-generation coffee farmer Noe Castillo in the Huehuetenango region, truly makes the perfect cup. Moreover, with organic and sustainable cultivating practices, you can feel completely confident in every single sip.

Additionally, our cinnamon sprinkles add just the right touch of spice, sweetness, and flair. And of course, who doesn’t love a fun little design on their coffee?

So, why not come check out where we happen to be, and try one of our Cappuccinos today!
