Mm, Mm - Matcha!
Sourced from a single family farm in Japan, this matcha balances ceremonial tradition with modern flair. Join us as we dive into the history behind this drink and how Pearl sets it apart.
What is Matcha?
Great question- friend! Matcha is a high-grade green tea ground into a fine powder. Unlike most teas where the leaves are seeped in water, this +powder is then whisked forming a distinct frothy drink.
Matcha has its roots in Japan, where it has been used for centuries as a ceremonial drink originally enjoyed by Zen priests, and then carried on by Japan’s samurai class whose lives were based on Zen Buddhist principles. The art of matcha making became a highly sophisticated tradition, becoming an art form within Japanese culture. This revere of matcha, often called “The Way of Tea” has solidifyed itself in Japanese culture today.
